Elicotteri senza pilota ....

La recente perdita in Afghanistan di un elicottero senza pilota K-MAX ha portato all'attenzione del grosso pubblico il sempre più ampio impiego di velivoli di questa categoria ....

 

Half the Military’s Robot Copters Are Crashing ....

Believe it or not, this is not all bad news ....

 

Evening was falling at the desert landing zone near the U.S. Marine Corps’ Camp Leatherneck in southern Afghanistan when the dragonfly-like shape of a robotic helicopter appeared on the horizon.

It was June 5 and the buzzing K-MAX unmanned cargo copter was angling in with a full load of supplies for the troops.

The twin-rotor, GPS-guided K-MAX didn’t quite make it. It tumbled to the ground in a cataclysm of dust and noise, reason unknown.

“No one was injured as a result of the incident,” Capt. Matthew Beers, a Marine spokesman, tells Medium.

Ma almeno ce l'hanno che so un casco con un visore che li informa in tempo reale della situazione di volo? E' difficile pilotare un elicottero con carichi sospesi. A distanza bisogna proprio essere bravi.

Ci vorrebbe un qualcosa che porti il pilota "a bordo" del radiocomando il gps non basta, pilotare un elicottero con un carico sotto è complicato non è una gru in un cantiere.

But one of the most eye-catching elements of the display is this image, entitled RWUAS ....
