Preparing for the "Blue Flag" Exercise ....

This week, Israeli squadrons will take part in preparatory workshop in anticipation of the "Blue Flag" training session, which will be held this month on the Ouvda airbase.

Over the next four days, they will practice takeoffs and maneuvers only in English so that they can be as ready as possible for the large-scale international exercise that will be underway in the coming weeks.

dopo tante esercitazioni di velivoli MM e AMI nel deserto e nel mare di Israele, e dopo le visite IAF in Sardegna, sembra che la collaborazione diventi ancora più seria.

In addition to the scenarios that will be practiced during the workshop, the Israeli aerial teams will train for a flight conducted entirely in English, as required in the international exercise. "The 'Blue Flag' is an advanced exercise at a very high level and we have to fly in English, which is something we aren't used to", explains First Lieutenant Omri, who is responsible for the workshop from the "Knights of the Orange Tai" squadron. "This preparatory workshop is being held so that we'll be at the highest level possible for the exercise itself".

The "Blue Flag" exercise is an international exercise that is being held for the first time in Israel. Over several intense weeks, Israeli, American Italian, and Greek combat jets will share the skies in southern Israeli in a large scale exercise. Also participating in the exercise will be observers from additional countries, who will examine future participation in the coming years. Earlier this year, preparations were made for a big exercise, like the workshop for the "Blue Flag" in which IAF squadrons took part and simulated together a large-scale exercise.

A margine c'era anche un'eserecitazione col gruppo d'altrura Italiano con Cavour, Caio Duilio, Duran De La Penne, Zeffiro e Stromboli

 

Comunque parteciperanno questi reparti di elite israeliani: "Edge of the Spear", "Knights of Twin Tail", "Knights of the North", "First Jet" , "Knights of the Orange Tail", "One" e "Bat" e gli aggressor del "Flying Dragon" squadron, sempre estrapolando dal link postato da Pinto.

 

Ovvero, il meglio del meglio del meglio di tuitti i reparti di aeronautica militare a livello mondiale, per quanto mi riguarda, mancano solo i "Martelli" del 69°. Altro che le scrause Red Flag!

 

Ma la presenza italiana sarà rappresentata solo da AMI o anche il gruppo di volo imbarcato sul Cavour, impegnato nella lunga crociera attorno al mondo per promuovere le eccellenze del Made in Italy avrà modo di confrontarsi con tali reparti lungo la strada per i ricchi emirati arabi?

With the help of Israeli air force (IAF) C-130s, in 1976 a commando force rescued Israeli and foreign passengers on an Air France aircraft hijacked and flown to Entebbe in Uganda.

The flight time between some very hostile countries and Israel’s densely populated centres is only minutes.

This requires early warning sensors that are capable of detecting very small aerial platforms from great distances, but also a system that will build the complete aerial picture.

This is needed for routine monitoring of the air space surrounding Israel, but mainly when something unusual or suspicious is closing in and fighter jets have to be scrambled.

This is why the Israeli air force (IAF) is developing a new very advanced aerial picture system.

La consegna di sei V-22 avverrà in tempi abbastanza rapidi ....

 

Israel To Receive Six V-22 Ospreys Quickly ....

Israel will receive six Bell-Boeing V-22 Osprey tiltrotors, U.S. Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel confirmed.

They will come out of “the next order to go on the assembly line,” he added, with delivery within two years.

The V-22s are being built under multi-year contracts, the latest of which was signed earlier this year.

In the Middle East defence issues are always attached to some relevant events. After an agreement with Iran about its nuclear programme was signed, in spite of a loud Israeli protest, air forces of four nations began a complex exercise over southern Israel.

Code-named Blue Flag, the exercise brought together 60 fighter and auxiliary aircraft.

Seven combat squadrons from the Israeli air force (IAF) and one squadron each from the air forces of the US, Greece and Italy were involved.

This week, two of the IAF’s biggest transport aircraft combined in a complex training session: aerial refuelling for heavy planes.

In most modern air forces they are called “weapon systems operators”, but the Israeli air force prefers to stick with tradition and call them “navigators”.
