In realtà i filmati su You Tube  mostrano che l'aereo ha   maneggevolezza e  controllabilità molto buone .

Dal punto di vista meccanico / aerodinamico, lo F-35 appare più maneggevole di un Tornado , specialmente quando il carico è imbarcato all'interno e non sporca l'aerodinamica ma, soprattutto , ha un motore con i fiocchi.

Certo non manovra come un Typhoon ,  considera però che lo scopo principale è quello di sostituire lo F-16 dei block 40 e 50 che sono quasi dei bombardieri tascabili.

Nei sogni dei generali dell'USAF la superiorità aerea doveva essere mantenuta dagli F-22 ; visti i risultati mi sa tanto che dovranno affidarsi alle Aquile ancora per un bel po' .

Oltre che abile sul piano tecnico aurenautico sei anche bravo sul piano dialettico.

Ci sono 339 pagine di discussione ufficiale sul F35 in cui si è scritto e detto di tutto, e credo solo l astrazenaca ha ricevuto più critiche dai mainstream della stampa non specializzata del Lightning II. Per un aereo con il suffisso F progettato JSF essere più maneggevole del Tornado dovrebbe essere il minimo non un merito, però certamente i piloti sono contenti del mezzo. 

Come CACCIA il F35 ha senso in condizioni di day 0 o day 1 in un conflitto alta intensità o con modalità  BVR tipiche degli aerei furtivi quali First look first shoot first down. ( dove mi pare nelle esercitazioni detenga un invidiabile 15 a 1) nel doghfight più volte è  stato abbattuto da F15 e F16 (ultima volta 2018 con tanti di giornali a strombazzato la cosa, ricordo una red flag dove 2 Jaguar RAF "abbatterono" 2 F15 senza clamore mediatico)

Ma neanche questo ha una rilevanza determinante ( a mio modesto avviso sempre, non è una legge dell universo e non la spaccio come tale) ma come dico a mio figlio sempre di anni 14 tu farai un mestiere da grande che abitualmente non esiste, e così l F35 è in grado di sostenere scenari di guerra che attualmente noi non possiamo concepire nella loro interezza.

Detto questo , come bellezza ( è sono quasi certo come inviluppo di volo, non sto dicendo come efficienza) meglio un Mirage 2000 che l F35. Esteticamente non amo gli stealth , le anticipazioni di FCS  TEMPEST E vari caccia asiatici spesso mi sembrano così simili  da sembrare lo stesso mezzo in diverse pose. 

Però come dicevi giustamente tu..de gustibus non est disputandum..altro concetto per ribadire che la bellezza è  soggettiva.

Su , non siamo così formali , myold ( vecchio mio ) .

Certamente la maneggevolezza è tipica di un caccia puro ( durante la 1a guerra mondiale i piloti italiani preferirono lo SPAD francese allo SVA nostrano perchè più maneggevole, anche se più veloce; poi lo SVA divenne un ottimo strike/ ricognitore ) . 

La maneggevolezza , tuttavia , può essere utile anche a un aereo d'attacco per attuare manovre di autodifesa o di disingaggio, nel caso la macchina dovesse essere aggredita a breve distanza. Contro i caccia di 4a   generazione  ( Mig 29 , Su 27 e simili ) o gli ultimi tipi di contraerea , un Tornado avrebbe poco scampo a meno d'installare un  sistema di contromisure ultima moda , computer allo stato dell'arte e largo uso di fibre ottiche per aumentare la velocità di trasferimento dei dati . Lo stesso per uno Strike Eagle .

Se poi volessimo definire l'aereo FA35 anzichè solo " F 35 " , mi trovi d'accordo.

Il resto sta nello studiare tattiche e approntare munizionamento adeguato.

Per quanto riguarda l'estetica , per me gli aerei più belli , fra quelli della guerra fredda sono : 1) F-16 , 2 ) Mirage 2000, 3 ) F-15 .

Grazie per evitarmi i formalismi, siamo sulla stessa lunghezza d onda per quanto riguarda le considerazioni su maneggevolezza e bellezza....il mio podio guerra fredda è  Mirage 2000 poi F15 monoposto e bronzo F16 

Non vorrei fare l errore di chi giudica e vieta il film via col vento a 80 anni dalla sua uscita, con gli occhi di un altra società,  altre priorità e altre sensibilità...alla stessa maniera chiaramente Il F35 odierno è superiore al tornado quasi in tutto ( forse solo il carico bellico in ton. potendo appendere al MRCA praticamente di tutto e trasformandolo da aereo ad un camion portabombe) ... specie per il  CAS BAI e soprattutto attacchi ad obbiettivi prioritari in profondità,  il concetto di bassa osservabilita garantisce una migliore sopravvivenza e riuscita della missione rispetto a sfrecciare a 1390 km hr a bassa quota . Ricordiamoci che anche nelle red flag  il nostro IDS all epoca batteva sia F111 che Jaguar e compagnia bella..poi gli americani ci insegnarono che il SEAD preventivo e il bombardamento da quote media teneva l attaccante al sicuro almeno dai 23 mm...ma rischiamo di uscire off topic. 

P.s mi trovi d accordo anche nel definire il LIGHTING 2 come F/A 35

Si ..assolutamente...ma il quarto non lo avevo considerato... vedo e rilancio con il Viggen ...( si capisce che ho un debole per i delta ?) Si potrebbe fare un contropodio..i 3 più brutti...come candidati vedrei bene il F117 il Lighting inglese il Su22 anche l F104 non aveva quelle proporzioni da sezione aurea..ma per esempio molti miei amici modellisti dicono che è meraviglioso ...de gustibus

The Air Force will ask Congress to retire 421 legacy aircraft through 2026, replacing them with just 304 new fighters, according to fiscal 2022 budget talking points obtained by Air Force Magazine.

Over the future years defense plan ending in fiscal ’26, the Air Force would also bring on 84 new F-15EX and 220 F-35A fighters, resulting in a net reduction of 117 jets over the five-year period. 
The downsizing would be the largest since the “CAF Redux,” or Combat Air Forces Reduction of the early 2010s, in which USAF trimmed its fleet by about 250 airplanes.  
Air Force leaders have been pushing for several years to be allowed to retire legacy systems in order to pay for new ones that will be more relevant to the future fight, particularly in the Indo-Pacific theater. 
Service officials in recent days have said they plan to start phasing out the fifth-generation F-22 in 2030, to be replaced by the classified NGAD family of systems, known to be at least one manned fighter and potentially several unmanned variants. 
Like the NGAD, the new MR-X would also be designed using new digital methodology to drastically reduce design, development and fielding timelines, while sharply reducing sustainment costs by baking in a short service life, with the expectation that successor aircraft will follow swiftly.

Simpson happened to be watching planes take off at the base on July 13 when he noted that one F-15E Strike Eagle was seemingly spewing fire and sparks out of its right rear engine, but the pilot seemed unaware.
According to the BBC, Simpson said he called the base’s switch board and was connected with the 48th Fighter Wing field operations group. 
From there, Thompson was alerted to the issue and was able to land safely without incident, according to the Facebook post.

Danneggiato dopo un atterraggio di emergenza ...

A B-2 bomber is lying damaged on the side of the runway at Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo., after a crash early Sep.14. 
Air Force Global Strike Command is withholding information about the condition of the aircraft and the operational status of Whiteman’s sole runway, but no one was injured in the mishap.
The unidentified aircraft - most of the 20 B-2s are named for a state - “experienced an inflight malfunction during a routine training mission” at about 12:30 a.m. local time, an AFGSC spokeswoman said. 
It was damaged on the runway “after an emergency landing,” she said. 
There were no personnel injuries and no fire as a result of the accident, and no munitions were aboard the aircraft, she said. 
Further details will be provided after an investigation.
Global Strike Command issued a notice to Airmen (NOTAM) shortly after the accident to keep at least six miles away from the base. 
The initial notice said the airspace would be restricted through Sept. 17. 
The reason for the NOTAM was given as “to provide a safe environment for accident investigation.”
